In this volume he accompanies the reader on a journey to the popular holiday region around Lake Chiemsee. We visit the two islands in the lake, the smaller Fraueninsel with the old monastery and Herreninsel, which was chosen by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, the „fairy-tale king“, as a site for one of his palaces. Other destinations are well-know holiday resorts like Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl. The high mountains around Berchtesgaden and Bad Reichenhall turn out to be especially photogenic. Highlights like Mount Watzmann and lake Königssee are duly distinguished.
